Can somebody explain this joke?

i think it means that the alabama guy didnt know how to count without his fingers and he didnt notice that 11 kids is alot and thats probably why his wife decided that was enough. so when he did the cherry bomb thing he counted on one hand(5 fingers in 1 hand) thats why he stoped at 5 and then put the can between his legs and by the time he counts to 10 the cherry bomb in the can might blow in his.....i think you no what
