I consider myself a native Texan because my family resided there when I was born, unfortunately I was born?

when my family was on an emergancy trip to another state, so people like to raze me saying I am not a native Texan because I wasn't born there... I say I am since that was where we lived at the time and where I have lived most of my life. Help.
