What lacrosse gloves should I get?

I play for an all guys high school lacrosse team, I play defense (possibly some attack) and my budget is fairly low, so, anything besides warrior superfreak, superfly, those mikey powell exodus gloves etc. Should I get Brine Defts? I've had Brine Maximus gloves for 3 years and they have totally ripped and have some blood on them (pretty cool). I do not want my next gloves to rip! Also, I want to play in college so should I get black ones because I'm going to be playing after high school?
